Prayers

Opening:

Lord Jesus, to be in your presence is life and joy for me. Free me from needless concerns and preoccupations that I may give you my undivided love and attention.

Read:

Isaiah 7: 1-9;

Psalm 48: 2-8;

Matthew 11: 20-24

If Jesus were to visit your community today, what would he say? Would he issue a warning like the one he gave to Chorazin and Bethsaida? And how would you respond? Do you receive Jesus's word with faith and obedience or with doubt and indifference?

For reflection:

“Even when you have gone as far as you can, and everything hurts, and you are staring at the specter of self-doubt, you can find a bit more strength deep inside you, if you look closely enough.” — Hal Higdon
